“Gucci Gang Gucci Gang Gucci Gang”
“It’s Gucci Mane LaFlare”
“Lookin’ at my Gucci it’s about that time”
I just want to know.....with the current blackface scandal that has risen to the surface
surrounding Gucci, are the boycotting “rules” universal to ANYTHING Gucci related (yes, this even means supporting a rapper who actually uses the name Gucci as his stage name), or are the “rules” loose, and only apply when following them doesn’t infringe on a protestors personal vanity, or comfort? 🤷🏽♂️
I have my opinion, but that’s not my aim here. I’m not attempting to stand on a soapbox (that can get very slippery I might add). I’m not attempting to publicly align myself with either side of the question that I just posed. I’m just curious to know from those who are actively boycotting, whether or not it will be deemed appropriate for us to affiliate with NOTHING Gucci related, or just some things.......
.....I promise I’m not being sarcastic here (just in case my tone has been mistaken as so)....
If you are down for the cause, but still let your kids listen to Lil Pump’s “Gucci Gang”, are you being hypocritical to your stance on blatant racial no no’s? Or is a simple little song, made by some kid from Florida not a “big deal”?
Does the trap God himself have to change his name? If you are on the boycotting side of this issue, but also happen to love his music, will you delete all your favorite Gucci Mane songs off your music library, or are you just letting it slide, because......well, it’s just a name ri
These questions might put some people in a tight squeeze as they wrestle with their ethical dilemma; and for some, it’s an easy choice.....
Where do YOU stand though? And is your decision solely based on your own morals, or are you just trying to appear to be in the know, and showing it by doing your due diligence of protesting the latest scandal in pop culture?
Let me know something!
